We’re Celebrating Dad today…

Grab a mug, pull up a chair and join the discussion about dads.  Our guests today are Matthew Sink and Darrin and Sheila Koone.

Matthew Sink is a pastor and teacher, finally in that order. After 14 years in public schools, he entered full-time ministry at Pinedale Christian Church (Winston-Salem) in January.  Matthew and his wife Tonya have three children, all elementary school age, and are feeling their way through parenting in 2010. Matthew is a huge sports fan (N.C. State), an avid reader (Charles Dickens), and has a great appreciation for good jokes!

Darrin Koone grew up in a family where his mother took him to church but his father never went with them.  He was a vice president of a trucking company in Dallas, Texas at the young age of 21. Soon after that he attended seminary school in Lubbock, Texas full time.  He spent 19 years as a pastor in three different states until the year 2003 when he lost his heart, his marriage and his ministry.  He married his wife Sheila in 2007 and began living as the man God wanted him to be. He and his wife, Sheila have two children and three grandchildren.  Together they started Dangerous Heart Ministries at God’s prompting to help other men get their hearts back and come to Know God as their true Father and live fully alive in Christ.  A large portion of their ministry is helping men discover and deal with the wounds they have received from their earthly fathers and how God wants to re-father them now through things no earthly father could ever do.

Join our conversation; call in today between 2&3pm EST 866-34TRUTH or leave a comment here on the blog.  We look forward to hearing from you. Come on, take some time out today to be encouraged.

“May Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” 2 Thessalonians 2:16,17

Well, I miss my daddy. He died on December 17th. It was really quick and no one was expecting it to happen. I was very close to my daddy. I am the youngest of four. My sister died in September at the young age of 46. She died very suddenly as well. My dad was a great man and a great dad. Thank you, Dawn Myers.
