Today’s Focus: Celebrate Good Times, Come On!
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Noelle Dey

Oh God… as this second week draws to an end, Lord we thank You for upholding us. It is my prayer that You would use this time to continue transforming me. Allow my eyes to see You will. Give my heart the desire to follow You. Let my mind understand all that You would have me too. For it’s in Jesus name I pray for these things, amen.

This Week’s Treasure:

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

2 Timothy 1:7

Main Course:

Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

Aside from getting me in the mood for more Kool and the Gang, that line also puts me in the mood to celebrate you! What do you think? Aren’t there reasons for you to celebrate? You completed week one of your personal transformation.

What? Did someone say, “I wasn’t perfect?” Well good. It’s nice to know that you are human. But you did find success, right? Of course you did. The mere fact you are putting yourself out there, taking on the challenge to shine brightly for God’s sake… that is success!

So how are you going to celebrate?

Let me give you a hint. If one of your goals is weight loss, it might not serve you well to celebrate by ordering a triple-scoop banana split. Nah, that would negate your workouts. Instead, keep your celebrations in line with your goals. Since you are aiming to be physically fit, why not give yourself the gift of a new fitness magazine? Or maybe you can afford a new workout t-shirt, a cool-looking water bottle or a healthy cookbook. If you have the budget, a massage would be heavenly.

What about your heart and your mind? How are you splurging there?

Have you been eyeing a new journal at the bookstore? Maybe you don’t have an extra dime to your name. Even that shouldn’t keep you from having an amazing time through this process. One of my friends spoiled herself by having her husband watch their kids for an hour. She took a cup of coffee and enjoyed every sip as she had quiet time on a park bench.

If you are reading this thinking, “That’s nice for them, but I’m just going to keep on truckin’ full speed ahead into my next week. I don’t deserve to have fun in this process…” I’ll tell you what… you sound like a stick in the mud! Join the party for heaven’s sake. You weren’t created to live a life of drudgery. Break out the party hats and streamers… invite me over for the conga line! Woohoo!

Closing Prayer:

Thank You again, Father for sustaining me. As I put aside the bad habits and attempt to change my old ways, Lord I ask that You would encourage me. Let me draw my strength from You alone. Enable me to persevere so that You might be glorified in and through my life. I ask these things in Jesus precious and holy name, amen.
