The Will to Follow

Day 16 … The Will to Follow

Coffee Talk for Tuesday, March 31, 2015
Today’s Focus is: Follow through
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Kelley Latta
Blessing:

Precious Heavenly Father, thank You for allowing me to enter into Your presence today. It's only through Your Son's sacrifice that this is possible. Thank You for showing me my need for Him. I ask You to speak to me today. Lord I am one of Your sheep, and oh how I desire to hear Your voice. Speak Your truths to me. May I see Your will and know which way to go. In Jesus name, amen.

Daily Bread:

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

John 10:27

Main Course:

Follow through. Have you ever noticed how our intentions rarely make it to reality? Dreams remain just that. Goals change and resolutions dissolve, rising and falling with the whim of our current desires. And let’s face it; our desires change as quickly as our moods.

We need a constant. A truth and a way that holds us steady so we don’t veer off course and self-destruct, a light to illuminate our path and guide us into fulfilling our true desires.

You know the ones, even if you can’t name them. They’re the source of your restlessness, your purpose and gifts woven into the fabric of who you are and camouflaged by your deceitful heart (Jeremiah 17:9).

You aimlessly wander from one idea to the next trying to satisfy their call, but you never will. Not without the One who placed them within you when He made you.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”

John 14:6

Jesus is the Way to quiet the restlessness. He alone holds the Truth of who you really are and what you were made to do. He is the only path to experiencing the fullness of Life on earth and eternal life in heaven. And He beckons you toward glory with two words. “Follow me.”

Do you believe Jesus holds the key to finding true contentment and purpose?

Ask God to help you surrender your desires to Him. Allow Him to show you what’s keeping you from following His plan and write what you hear. Then invite Him to lead.

Closing:

Great Creator, the One Who made me exactly the way He wanted me. The One Who knows my every strength and my every weakness, and yet still chooses to use me in Your mighty plan. I am so unworthy Lord. But I am so grateful for each and every opportunity You have given me. You have planned my every step and provided me with each and every thing I will ever need to successfully complete this journey. If I will lean into You, fully rely on You, and totally surrender my life over to You. Today Lord, I thank You for allowing me to hear Your voice. I thank You for showing me the way that I may follow You wherever You may lead. Here I am Lord. Send me! In Jesus precious and holy name I pray, amen.
