Today’s Focus is: Introduction
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Julie Marie White
Precious Heavenly Father, today as we begin a new study I pray that You would be the object of our desire. As we enter this time, I pray that You would make us fit to be in Your presence. I pray that Your voice would be heard and Your words understood. Imprint them upon our hearts that we might live a life that seeks to please You. For it's in Jesus name I pray, amen.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”
1 Peter 2:9 NASB
Once upon a time there lived a good king whose kingdom was greater than all the others. Although he had many servants in his kingdom, he longed for more: the king wanted a family to share in all that he had in his kingdom. So, the king had a son and sent him out to find a bride in order that he could begin a large family.
The prince found a beautiful queen in a land far away. Her tiny and poor kingdom was often raided by adversaries. This saddened the prince greatly, for he loved the queen. The prince knew he could protect her if she was his bride, and he chose to offer her his hand in marriage. The queen knew that this union would require her to give over her kingdom to the prince, and she would have to move away from her familiar land to the prince’s castle in his kingdom. It was a difficult decision, but the extravagant love of the prince captured her heart. She graciously accepted his proposal.
At once, the prince gave her his father’s ring and swept her away to his own kingdom. As they entered the gates they were greeted by a grand celebration. Every servant in the land cheered, bowing as the prince and his new bride rode past on his white horse. The king was so excited that he ran out to them, embraced them, and proclaimed a feast throughout the land.
Soon the princess was adorned with a new robe and crown, far more glorious than any she had previously worn. As the new princess sat on the throne with his son, the king announced, “This is my daughter and she rules over this kingdom along with my son. All I have I give to her. This is my word, let it be so.” Once a queen, now a princess, this adopted daughter looked out at all she had been given and what she had become. She was greatly amazed! And they all lived happily ever after.
You are that princess!
Please join us tomorrow as Julie tells us what it means to become "that princess"!
Father, thank You for the opportunity to become a part of Your royal family. To come under Your care and live under Your name... Your great, glorious, powerful, redeeming name. I pray that You would forgive me for the times I've chosen to give my love to another. For the times my eyes have strayed from the One Who first loved me... from the One Who gave His life in exchange for mine. I pray that You would capture my heart and fix my eyes on You. I pray that You would become my one and only desire. Father through this journey may I learn what it really means to be Your princess. For it's in Jesus name I pray, amen.
