I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 NIV
When you stand before a mirror what do you see? I personally used to avoid mirrors because I didn’t care for the reflection. Even a quick glance and I could easily find numerous flaws. This type of self-defeating attitude, left unchecked, is a recipe for disaster.
As I was reading through Psalm 139 one day, verse 14 really hit me, “fearfully and wonderfully made.” God made each and every one of us unique for His purpose and plan. He didn’t intend for everyone to look the same, have the same talents or personalities. God lovingly created us with SHAPE.
God gifted everyone with a least one spiritual gift. If you do not know what your personal gift is, then I suggest you take the online assessment.
God has given you a passion for certain things. My passion happens to be reaching out to others and lifting them up in prayer.
These can be anything from art to speaking to organization.
There is a vast array in the world that God blends harmoniously together.
These are the storms of life God has brought you through; rarely will these experiences be wasted.
Dear friend when God looks at you He sees your SHAPE - everything that makes up you, not just the exterior.
The next time you pass by a mirror recall that SHAPE God has given you and remember the contents are more important than the packaging.
I encourage you to take time today to examine your SHAPE and begin to see who God created you to be.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You today seeking to take what You have given me and use it for Your purpose and plan. I long to see myself as You see me – beautiful, lovely, wonderfully made and useful for Your glory. May I not fall victim to the lies of the enemy about my value and worth. Help me not compare myself with those around me, but realize You have given each one of us a unique SHAPE for a specific purpose. May I begin to love the SHAPE I am and use it daily for You. In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen.
